From the Studio: John Abisamra

2026 has provided me with several photography interesting experiences where I was able to work on both my landscape and wildlife photography skills. I spent the month of March in Florida where I enjoyed doing lots of bird photography with birds not normally seen in New England. March is the time for the babies to be born and capturing sandhill crane and roseate spoonbill families with their little ones was very special!

More recently I have been spending time following and photographing a fox family, which includes 8 fox kits (see attached 2 photos).

It is an amazing story of a fox mother who had five kits on her own and subsequently accepted another three kits from a motherless den. I was also fortunate to capture the golden hour, where the sun silhouetted a number of trees at sunset.

I was honored to be awarded first place in the Magic Moments category of the Essex Heritage Photo contest this year for my photo entitled “Play Time”.

Two of my photos have been accepted into the SeArts “Art on the Rocks” show:

“Start of a New Day”

“A Tribute to the Lily Jean”

My photos will be on display at Cape Ann Coffees from June through August and are currently on display at Sugar Magnolia in Gloucester and the Depot Diner in Beverly. You can view more of my photography at windowoflight.weebly.com.
