This year’s “From the Studio” theme is texture…
I continue to explore life at the water’s edge in Cape Ann light. Different light reveals different textures at varying times of day and year. Here in spring the strengthening sun over cool waters creates fog that softens lines, blurs the horizon. The texture of the dog’s coat resonates with the swirling fog.
A bit after noon in summer, shadows are short and the east breeze picks up, coming in cool off the water. This piece is big allowing for large color fields with subdued textures.
Come on out this weekend to see all the textures of the tour.
