Even though this winter has been a tough one with snow and cold, it is still going by fast! While snug and warm in my studio I signed up for an online class about making a QR code in mosaic, the goal being to have people walking by my property see what my studio is about and the kind of works I create. I plan to mount it to my sculpted tree. Even from a distance it works! The QR code directs people to my web site. Once the code is created you can do any type of work outside of the white border. I used both Italian and Mexican smalti in this work. If you would like to see it in person, go to the Rockport Art Association and Museum on Main street in Rockport and see the Spring Group show from March 28- May 6 or walk by my yard!
My original plan this winter was to start the mosaic on the new form I made for the tree in late fall. You can see it mounted on the tree on the right. I should have paid attention to my intuition that was telling me to bring the form up to the studio. I didn’t, and we are now buried in snow! But it will slowly melt, hopefully by the Spring!
