From the Studio Spring 2018: Terry Del Percio-Piemonte

Hi Friends. I’m Terry Del Percio-Piemonte, and my studio is located at Bond Street Studio (#21 on the Tour this year), along with my husband, photographer David Piemonte. I’m a contemporary and mixed media painter.

Just a few weeks ago my painting “Sacred Words” (left) won an Honorable Mention Award at The Charles Gallery in downtown Gloucester. What a wonderful surprise!  It’s the first of a new series I’m working on that was inspired by an exhibit of Mark Tobey at the Addison Gallery which is part of the elite boarding school Phillips Academy in North Andover. Unfortunately this particular exhibit is over but I would highly recommend visiting this wonderful gallery (it’s free to get in).

A very exciting thing is about to begin: I was invited to participate in the Rocky Neck Cultural Center’s Residency Program for the month of May. Every year one local artist is invited to be a Resident Artist.  What this means to you, our visitors, is that you will be among the first to see the new work that I began during the Residency.

If you’re interested in attending my opening talk (approx. 45 minutes), please join us on Thursday, May 3 from 7pm – 8:15pm, at the Rocky Neck Cultural Center, 6 Wonson St., Gloucester. Everyone is welcome.

Along with my painting and as a result of the tumultuous and stressful state of the world, I began a new project. I needed something to make me to laugh.

I launched a funny line of cards called The Mixed Up People Series. Check them out during the studio tour.” (See below for some sample cards.) If you’d like to see more or learn the story of how these cards came about, go to terrydelpercio.com. We love hearing from you. And we’ll see you on June 2 & 3.
