Artist Sinikka Nogelo, based in Gloucester, will be exhibiting in “Why Abstract: The Art of Imagination”, at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck, 6 Wonson Street, Gloucester, MA, April 21 – May 30th, 2016. The opening reception will take place Sat., April 23, from 4 – 6 pm. The show has been curated by Matt Cegelis and includes 23 artists working in a variety of media.
From Sinikka’s artist statement:
“Why is abstract for me? I like that the point of departure is limited only by human experience. It can be internal, external, intellectual, philosophical, emotional, serious or silly. I like the endless possibilities of style and choice of elements, the fact that any element can be the key. All in all, I find working abstractly to be delightfully challenging, interesting and conducive to invention.”
