Tell us about how you got into this business & why (your passion)?
I’ve always loved sharing Gloucester with people, and The Vista gives me the perfect way to do that. There’s something magical about watching guests relax the moment they see the ocean view from the check-in desk. My passion is making people feel truly welcomed and cared for, and creating a place they can return to year after year and call their ‘home by the beach.’
What is the “vibe” of The Vista? Typical customer?
The Vista is relaxed, friendly, and all about the view—classic Cape Ann without any pretension. Guests enjoy spacious, spotless rooms overlooking Good Harbor Beach, a heated pool, and a simple continental breakfast to start the day. Our typical guest is someone who appreciates comfort, genuine hospitality, and the chance to slow down: couples on a getaway, families making memories, and repeat visitors who’ve been coming to Gloucester and The Vista for years.
Favorite event/special experience everyone should know about
Our favorite ‘event’ is sunrise over Good Harbor Beach, best enjoyed with a cup of coffee from your balcony or our breakfast pavilion. It’s the moment when guests really understand what makes The Vista special. We also encourage guests to make a full ‘Vista day’: arrive early, use our changing room, head to the beach, then come back for a swim in the heated pool before exploring Gloucester and Cape Ann.
How do you see the arts community as part of your vision and/or how do you support the arts?
Gloucester and Cape Ann have an incredible artistic history, and many of our guests come here for exactly that inspiration. We support the arts by directing visitors to local galleries, studios, and cultural events, and by sharing information about exhibits, performances, and festivals at our front desk. We see The Vista as a gateway to experiencing the creative side of Cape Ann, and we’re proud to help connect our guests with the local arts community.
