Tell us about how you got into this business & why (your passion)?Hospitality at its very core is so much more than providing service. It is a genuine connection and opportunity to create meaningful experiences and memories for our guests. The Inn is located on the beach and many of these stays will provide the “best-of-days” and fond memories for our guests. Cultivating and bringing those experiences and memories to life is such a great opportunity.

What is the “vibe” of your venue? Typical customer?
The Inn is relaxed luxury. Our beachside setting leans to relaxation and serenity, while understanding the playful “vibe” of the beach. We will host couples and families alike and the experience is flexible and befitting of both. It is an opportunity to fall asleep with the ocean waves at your window and wake up with the sun rising over Good Harbor Beach. Whether staying in the peak of the summer season and you are out the door to the beach or the quieter months and sitting by the window reading a book.

What is your favorite event/special night that everyone should know about?
As we reopen the Inn after a complete reconstruction, our programming will be substantially expanding. We are very much looking forward to our in house programming, that will include “music on the lawn”, “yoga on the beach”, a big mid-summer clambake on the beach and other seasonal programming. We will continue to add special events as the first season gets underway.

How do you see the arts community as part of your vision and/or how do you support the arts?
Our selection of art for the interior decorating was very intentional, displaying prints from artists such as Homer, Potthast, Metcalf and others that were painting before and around the time of the origin of “The Inn”. We’ve had many guests stay with us and spend their days painting at the beach, the island, the bridge and beyond. We’d love to continue to cultivate that by partnering with local artists to potentially offer painting class on site. We also love every opportunity that we have to direct our guests to the art galleries and studios of Cape Ann, home to so many talented artists and varying styles of art.
