From the Studio, Fall 2019: Beth Williams

How to Jumpstart Fall? Bring on the Endless Summer!

Fall is my favorite time of year (along with Spring and Summer! 😉) and this year I was lucky enough to spend the beginning of it in San Diego and on the big island of Hawai’i! I spent the time with three wonderfully like-minded women, all also involved with glass on different levels…so we had some interesting business discussions as well as talks about inspiration, all while checking out several intriguing and well-curated galleries on the island…..between stopping for photo ops as we traveled around the island. Hundreds of miles on the odometer later and after days exploring botanical gardens and alien landscapes, I have almost a thousand photos I still need to organize… but with three shows coming up quickly, that’s going on the back burner for the moment.

So much of my inspiration comes from nature….flowers, colors, landscapes….so I’ve included here some of my favorite pictures from the trip. If you follow my Instagram or Facebook you may have seen a couple of them already – but stay tuned to see what evolves! Why is it that the time my brain is on fire with creativity is the same time when I’m so busy I don’t have the time to play with new ideas?!? It always seems to happen….but having these photos help spark new ideas whenever I scroll through them. I also use lots of beautiful images in my PowerPoint presentations; having eye-candy like these makes it so much easier to get up and talk in front of a crowd!

I hope you can stop by and see my new work, either in my studio this weekend during Cape Ann Artisans Fall Open Studios or at the 35th Annual Annisquam Arts and Crafts Show, or next Saturday at Beadesigner International’s Annual Bead Affaire in Watertown MA. Aloha, see you soon!
