From the Studio: John Abisamra

Dinghies at Rest

I am very excited to be joining the Cape Ann Artisans group for the 2022 season. My real passion is to capture the beauty of Cape Ann and its magical light through my camera. I try to capture the uniqueness each season brings.

Heavenly Rays

I particularly enjoy photographing during the golden hours of sunrise and sunset and also am drawn to images where nature and man made elements meet. Photography for me is all about capturing a moment in time which may never be repeated. My real studio is the great outdoors where I spend a good amount of time driving on backroads or hiking to secluded places of Cape Ann to capture it’s beauty. I also spend considerable time editing my images to replicate what I saw. You can view more of my photography by visiting my home gallery during the 4 Cape Ann Artisan scheduled tours for 2022 or viewing my website of windowoflight.weebly.com.

Buoys in Snow

My photographs have been published in the Photographer’s Forum Magazine, Cape Ann Magazine, Cape Ann Guide, Discover Gloucester, and the Cape Ann Guide. I was also recently awarded the Juror’s Choice award in photography at the Rockport Art Association  annual National exhibition for my Buoys in Snow photo. I am also a juried member of Gallery 53 on Rocky Neck, Rockport Art Association, and Newburyport Art Association where my photography can be viewed along with the Cape Ann Coffee and Oliver’s Restaurant in Gloucester, Arts Abound in Magnolia, and the Depot Diner in Beverly. I will also be opening Gallery Number One in Rockport along with my fellow artists Deb Schradieck and Stephanie Mason next month.
