Cape Ann Artisans Announce Details for 36th Anniversary Open Studios – Partnership Opportunities Available through Feb 1
The Cape Ann Artisans have set the schedule for the 2019 Annual Tour weekends. The Spring Tour will be held Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2. The Fall Tour will encompass the entire three day Columbus Day Weekend, Oct 12-14. The studios are open to the public 10AM-5PM. There will be 16 diverse studios and 17 artists sharing works from across the fine art and craft spectrum – pottery, painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, mosaics, prints, textiles, and jewelry, and accessories created in diverse materials – clay, glass, silk, metals, fibers, yarns, sea glass and more. The tour takes place in Gloucester and Rockport and all studio locations and details are found on the printed brochures available in April and online throughout the year at www.capeannartisans.com .
The Artisans thank the community for its continued support of the Tour and in particular the Partner Program that includes presence in the brochure and online. The Artisans connect with thousands of visitors and act as ambassadors to all things local – especially lodging, restaurants, and services.
Now is the time to engage as a 2019 Partner. Partners are represented in the brochure and online. Over 14,000 brochures which are distributed throughout the region and the tour is supported through membership in community organizations such as seARTS Cape Ann, the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, the North of Boston CVB, and Discover Gloucester. Interested businesses should contact Andy Matlow andymatlow@gmail.com by February 1 to secure one of the limited spaces. Online-only Partners are accepted on a rolling basis.
The Artisans also welcome the opportunity to do a “show and tell” at local gatherings. If you have a group that would like to host a display of work, hear directly from some of the artists, and learn about the tour at one of your organization’s gatherings, Cape Ann Artisans would like to hear from you. To request a visit by the artisans, please send a note to Jackie via info@CapeAnnArtisans.com. Please reference our program “Cape Ann Artisans in the Community.”
Many of the Artisans are open year round and welcome the chance to greet interested art lovers and community members privately by appointment. Many also hold classes. Don’t miss the chance to get a true inside look at the year round artist community hidden in neighborhoods throughout Cape Ann or enjoy that pottery or mosaic class that you always wanted to take. Please check individual websites for details and reach out directly to the artists by phone and email.
