The Cape Ann Artisans Announces a Holiday Pop-In

 Focus on Community Appreciation

The Cape Ann Artisans are poised to make your holiday shopping easier and more meaningful than ever!   For the first time in its 38-year history, the Artisans are opening their studios for a Holiday visit.  It’s such a wonderful way to celebrate in your own neighborhood or visit Gloucester and Rockport during this special time of year.

It’s also an important time of year to remember our community.  The Artisans are grateful for all the support they have received from patrons and partners and have chosen to give a percentage of sales to an important effort that has been led by the Cape Ann Museum in support of the Grace Center.  The program is called the “Art of Lunch” and it involves a bi-monthly lunch from local restaurants enabled through these funds that provides quality nourishment to the neediest in our community.  The lunch is enhanced with programming led by the Museum that offers an opportunity for “creative expression and art appreciation.”  The Artisans are proud to be able to collaborate with the Museum on this effort by donating up to 15% of sales from each artisan’s sales on December 4th.

It’s not always easy to think about an appropriate “art” gift, so the Artisans have assembled a list of ideas to help find the perfect fit for someone on your list.   Almost all Artisans offer Gift Certificates for finished work, custom orders or in some cases, classes.

Artisans from across the spectrum have special offers in their studios and many items in the range of $25 to $100.  Here are just a few ideas! From potter, Cynthia Curtis, suggests Berry Bowls and a reminder that Winter Pottery Classes begin on January 3.   Painter Deb Gonet will offer Hand-painted silk pillows and Deb Schradieck has a wide range of ideas including Gloucester, Magnolia, and Rockport-themed Christmas cards in boxes of 10 cards w/red envelopes, triple-framed prints of Cape Ann watercolors, and Holiday Special Giclee prints in custom frames.  She will also do a drawing for a free (unframed) home portrait!  Marcie Rae will be co-located with Deb Schradieck and showcase her Sterling silver and 14 k gold fill earrings with matching bracelets and necklaces and introduce her new Filigree line of earrings and pendants. Rob Diebboll will offer boxes of eight Greeting Cards as well as a Holiday Special: ‘Dog Day’ 10×10″ archival prints. Pam Stratton will have mosaic earrings and necklaces plus her wonderful Christmas ornaments. Jackie Ganim-DeFalco is thrilled to host Linda Hogan and her quilts in the downstairs space of her studio.  Her Cape Ann Designs Collection hair accessories include great gift items such as Alligator Clips, Mini-Brooches, Hair Sticks, Combs, Sea Glass Notecards, and books.   She will also have a gift certificate drawing.  Beth Williams is introducing stud earrings to her collection of handmade glass jewelry along with new colors of hoop beads/earrings and pendants. As a downtown merchant, Beth will also be part of the Holiday Shopping Spree drawing! Chloe Leigh has lovely freshwater pearl silver earrings.  In addition to having an eco-friendly and sustainable jewelry practice, for every jewelry purchase at Chloe’s a tree is planted on your behalf through one Tree Planted.  Don’t miss a chance to cozy up in a hand-knitted scarf from Sara Wright!
