From the Studio, Summer 2020: Sinikka Nogelo

Thank goodness for outdoor art! Right now I’m excited to be working on my 5th sculpture for the sculpture show at Maudslay State Park that opens Sept. 13th. This year’s theme is “Passages.” Though I’m a painter this is the first time that I’m focusing on paint in my piece, having used metal, paper, and plastic recyclables previously. It’s also the first time I’ve invited a collaborator, my eldest grandson, Max Littman, who has a way with doodles.

For the fall “Cape Ann Artisans Studio Tour” I’ll have a couple of sculptures in the yard, and paintings (weather permitting.) And art lovers who wish to see my studio will just need to follow COVID-19 precautions.
