The heat wave that’s happening as I write is influencing my art is a number of ways. I’m not outdoors in the yard making an oversize stain painting or working on a sculpture for Maudslay State Park as are my recent annual August habits. Instead, I’m indoors busily recycling paintings and painting fresh, in order to produce more vases like the one I improvised for a special exhibit in Rockport this spring... MEDIA ADVISORY: Cape Ann Artisans Announce Summer Mini-Tour Participants
Cape Ann summers bring many visitors to Gloucester and Rockport and the Cape Ann Artisans are pleased to welcome everyone into their studios for a mid-summer event called the Mini-Tour. For this special event on Saturday, August 13th, nine studios will be participating between the hours of 10AM and 5PM. From the Studio: Rebecca Nagle

I have been enjoying the wonderful world of smalti. Smalti is the hand made glass that I fell in love with when I first started doing mosaics. I love the sculptural texture, the deep color, and it’s amazing reflectivity. I used it in my most recent work “Ravenna Dreams”, a 24”x24” mixed media piece using smalti and encaustic wax plus lots of 24k gold! ... MEDIA ADVISORY: New Energy Flows into Cape Ann Artisan Tour
